Ethiopia Is A Country Worth Fighting For

God told me no one deserves to suffer and fighting for my country and their happiness is worth it.

A wonderful country named Ethiopia located in Africa is being damaged and overthrown by people who are killing innocent people for no apparent reason. Lives have been lost, families have been worried and walking by foot to other countries. My mother and father both love their home very much. Not a day goes by where they don't think about their home or families. Our whole family dream is to go back to Ethiopia and make better changes -- changes for young children, adults, and elders so they can live a happier life more than ever. See the thing is, our country isn't peaceful or non-violent, but it is torn.

Since the beginning of the year in Washington, D.C., protests have been taken into action in some way. But the protests that have been occurring within the year have less action than we Ethiopians expected. As an adult, I feel it is my duty to be a part of the greater change in my country. So, when push comes to shove, you -- yes, you -- have to get through it no matter the obstacles. Not only in D.C. but other states have been taking action and protesting. The thing about protesting is, it usually doesn't work, knowing from experience of course. About a few years back, all of Ethiopia had an unexpected turn where everything changed for the worse. God has a way for all of this to go away, making Ethiopia whole again.

You know what's worth fighting for when you put your heart into it 100%. When I put my heart into something that is worth it, I do my best to find the better outcome. There are youth organizations all over the globe trying to find ways to make Ethiopia great again. Just because Ethiopia is being overthrown by bad people doesn't mean the hopes of others are gone. The spirit of Ethiopia still lives no matter if the country changed.

A country worth fighting for is something I love doing. An Interesting fact is, I want to become a social worker. My interest from the start is to help people. Seeing people all over the world care so much for such innocent people makes me so happy. A country worth fighting for can make a difference for us all. God doesn't put us through failure for no reason. He puts us through these obstacles for a reason, which I believe is an outstanding and wonderful thing. Again, a country worth fighting for is a country worth fighting for with God. I will never give up on a dream my whole family has wanted for so long.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?
