With this election now behind us, it is now time for our country to chill. The decision has been made and everyone of us can take a chill pill. Seriously, put down your phone, get off your Twitter and Facebook and take a breather. Take a vacation from all of it, you need it. WE ALL NEED A BREAK FROM SOCIAL MEDIA.

This election has sucked out the energy from all of us. This includes posts about the candidates on social media. Even some memes about the candidates, not gonna lie, the orange is the new black meme is my new favorite myself. However, we have spent all of our time reading and thinking about these posts and memes and not thinking about what is really important in life.

While it has been great entertainment and awesome to look at everything on social media, we need to focus on each other. Focusing on loving and supporting each other during this time is important because of the outcome. It may not have been to the best outcome to some, but we still need to respect one another's thoughts and opinions. If we do not do this, our country is going to be like a crazy amusement park on steroids.

So if we can just be nice to each other and say kind things then we will be in the right direction. Change is not going to happen over night. We are going to have to work together as a country to take the right steps to change the way we look and think about situations in a positive way. Why not start today to make these positive changes?

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
