12 Countries You Should Visit In Your Lifetime If You Want To Expand In Culture

.

1. Greece

Greece is a beautiful country. If you have not been, definitely put it on your list of places. Who doesn't love the history of the country? Plus you can see the white and blue tops of Santorini and Mykonos.

2. Israel

Israel is one of the most historic countries in the world. It is home to the Jewish people, and has some insanely delicious food! Who doesn't love shawarma and falafel? Also, Tel Aviv is a great spot to go during the hot months.

3. France

I have never been to France, but I have heard it is a beautiful place. Apparently the wine country is amazing.

4. Italy

Italy is another place with a rich, important history. Italian food is also amazing, and the beaches and water there are crystal clear. Who doesn't love swimming and being able to actually see your feet (@new jersey beaches)?

5. England

England is another big place I would like to visit. Not only can you ride the London Eye, but you can visit the train platform and the studio from Harry Potter.

6. Spain

When you go visit Spain, you can also visit Portugal. This country is very immersive and you can learn a lot about the culture there. You can also watch bull fighting. A man in a sparkling suit waving a flag at a bull sounds fun.

7. Ireland

Ireland has plenty of famous spots to visit. The Cliffs of Moher and many other places are perfect places to visit. Also, you can go to pubs and just have an all around good time.

8. Hungary

Who doesn't want to go to Budapest? You can take a bath in one of the public baths or you can enjoy the nightlife. Either way, there is a little bit for everyone to do.

9. Nepal

Nepal is home to part of Mount Everest, which is why it is on this list. Mount Everest is the biggest mountain in the world and is very important for people to visit. Not only is Nepal home to Mount Everest but it is just a beautiful, peaceful place in general.

10. Poland

Poland can be a sad place to visit, but it still worth traveling to. Poland can teach us about the past and let us make sure history does not repeat itself.

11. Thailand

Swimming with elephants is a thing in Thailand. Also, riding elephants. These ginormous lovable animals are a huge part of the culture over there. Besides the elephants, there also a huge cultural immersion there, and one can learn a lot about the basic and simpleness of life.

12. Russia

Giphy

Last on my list is Russia. I feel Russia is another good place that people can and should visit. It is a vast country with many things to see and do.

I hope you take my advice and see the world.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
