1. Boy Meets World ~ Turkey Day (Season 4 Episode 10)


Synopsis: The Matthews family spends Thanksgiving with Hunter family spend in the trailer park, where they must confront and overcome class differences in order to get along.

Activity: Invite someone to your thanksgiving dinner who you may not have the most in common with, whether it be another family, an elderly member of your community, or a starving college student who can't afford to travel home. Make sure there is always room at your table.

2. A Winnie the Pooh Thanksgiving

Synopsis: Winnie the Pooh and friends discover the true meaning of Thanksgiving after Rabbit's carefully-planned feast goes awry.

Activity: Host a "Friendsgiving" Feast on or before Thanksgiving Day! OR write a letter to your friends to let them know you are thankful for them.

3. Full House ~ The Miracle of Thanksgiving (Season 1 Episode 9)

Synopsis: The Tanner household pulls together to celebrate their first Thanksgiving dinner after Pam's death.

Activity: Create a Thanksgiving Cook Book with all your favorite family recipes! OR send a card to a friend or family dealing with the loss of a loved one this holiday season.

4. Adventures from the Book of Virtues ~ Generosity (Season 1, Episode 12)

Synopsis: Zach and Annie collect canned goods for a homeless shelter in order to receive recognition. On Plato's Peak they learn, through three stories, about how selflessness and generosity go hand-in-hand.

Activity: Call your local food bank or homeless shelter and ask how you can make a donation that would best help them. Many people donate canned goods this time of year, so consider making a different donation. Volunteer some of your time, donate money to help with operating expenses, or make a supermarket run for fresh foods upon approval from your soup kitchen (a lot of canned good they receive are often expired or extremely high in sodium).

5. Father Knows Best ~ Thanksgiving Day (Season 1, Episode 8)

Synopsis: Kathy writes a poem about Thanksgiving that wins a 4th grade contest. Meanwhile, the Anderson family plans to spend Thanksgiving in separate places, but comes together at the last minute to spend it together.

Activity: Write a poem about what you are thankful for.

6. Adventures in Odyssey ~ Thanksgiving at Home (Album 7, Episode 132)

Synopsis: When John and Mary come down with the flu, Donna and Jimmy decide to cook Thanksgiving dinner all by themselves. (Radio Drama)

Activity: Make a care package and some homemade soup for a friend or family member who is sick.

7. The Lawrence Welk Show - Thanksgiving Special

Synopsis: The cast of the Lawrence Welk Show put on a special for Thanksgiving. Wonderful music and dancing!

Synopsis: Marion Cunningham tells the story of the first Thanksgiving to emphasize that the point of the holiday is connecting with family, not watching football.

Activity: Whip up some Tofurkey while you cook your Thanksgiving meal! No really, here's a recipe! Your vegan and/or Seventh-Day Adventist friends will appreciate it!

Synopsis: The quintessential Thanksgiving classic! You just can't NOT watch this on Thanksgiving day!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
