The air is starting to smell of grilling and cheap beer.
August 30 kicks off the start of the most wonderful time of the year: Ohio State football.
After only a year at Ohio State, it's difficult for me to imagine attending a school without big
sports. Everything about football season reminds me of why I chose this school
and why I continue to love it every day. Sports bring people together and
there's not a better group of people than those at a football tailgate.
Being in the student
stands unifies students of all kinds; everyone looks alike in their Braxton, of
Kenny G, jerseys. We're all there for the same reason and there's never a bad
mood within miles of The Shoe on football Saturday.
I fully understand that sports aren't everyone's thing and don't mind missing out at schools without such
a big emphasis on them. At Ohio State, you could quiver at the thought of
sports and still dream about College Gameday on ESPN. There are girls
decked out in their football spirit wear who wouldn't know a touchdown from a
homerun, but we accept them anyways! It's the energy and love we all have for
each other, guided by the love of Buckeye football.
