Because of many travel restrictions and health concerns associated with the coronavirus, tourism has been down in many countries around the world. In fact, it has been so down that after the coronavirus is over, some destinations plan on helping people pay to visit them in an effort to increase travel and re-stimulate the economy. Here is a list of five travel destinations that will actually help you pay to visit them post coronavirus.
1.Sicily, Italy
Located off the south of Italy, Sicily plans on covering up to half of people's flight costs and one in three hotel nights spent at select hotels on the island. In addition, they also plan on providing free entry to select museums and archeological sites which are normally very popular and expensive to see.
2. Cancun, Mexico
Cancun, Mexico plans on offering a great two for one campaign created to get international tourists to visit and boost tourism. Announced by the Cancun Hotel Association, the Come to Cancun 2x1 campaign includes two free nights of accommodation for every two nights paid as well as a refund of the plane ticket price so visitors can bring a friend.
3. Las Vegas, USA
Hotel CEO and developer Derek Stevens announced that there will be a giveaway of 1,000 free flights to Las Vegas and hotel discounts in an effort to remind people how much fun Vegas can be and boost tourism.
4. Cyprus
While Cyprus is covering costs for some visitors, this is a deal you won't want to be eligible for. They announced that they will only cover you and your travel companions lodging, food, drink, and needed medications if someone gets coronavirus while vacationing there. Because the island has one of the lowest coronavirus ratios per capita anywhere in Europe, Cyprus doesn't expect many cases and makes it a great place to travel if you want to but are worried about getting the coronavirus.
5. Bulgaria
Although Bulgaria won't pay for flights or hotel stays, they are making a lot of their extremely popular tourist hotspot places free of charge. For instance, they are letting visitors access their beaches and beach amenities like sunbeds, umbrellas, tables, and chairs for free which are normally quite expensive in the country.
