With many schools around America opting into keeping students away from the classroom and the advent of social distancing and stay-at-home quarantine, coronavirus (COVID-19) has created an environment where school shootings have completely stopped.
But the reality is, it has taken a pandemic to stop these school shootings. No amount of legislation, protesting, and awareness has done as much as COVID-19 has done in giving us a month where no school shootings have happened.
During this time, it's important to really consider why it has taken something so extreme to stop this. It's important to consider if things will go right back to the way they were before the pandemic hit and why. And it's important to use this as a catalyst for growth in the future.
COVID-19 may have helped to create a reprieve in school shootings in America, but it is the American people that will help to continue it forward post-COVID-19.
