As you are going through your hot summer day, you are eventually going to need to cool off. Why not cool off with some of the best ice cream the beautiful city of Chicago has to offer!

1. Amorino Chicago

Known for its elaborate ice-cream cones that have the ice cream look like flowers, this gelato place is the best. Some of the best flavors located right on State Street.

2. Dylan's Candy Bar

This huge candy store usually brings in its costumers attracted to its endless supply of every candy you dream of. However, hidden inside is the restaurant that serves some of the best ice cream you can have while strolling along down Michigan Avenue.

3. Ghirardelli Chocolate

Located right across from the Water Tower, not only do they have chocolate to die for, they have the best sundaes ever. So after you're done shopping through the Water Tower, I suggest a stop in Ghirardelli Chocolate and enjoy yourself.

4. Annette's Italian Ice

Located right in Lincoln Park, this place is great. This little place has tonsof flavors that will keep you coming back for more.

5. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

Located in Wicker Park and Lakeview, this place has unreal ice cream. So if you're ever walking around near there, stop by and get yourself a scoop or five.

6. Scooter's Frozen Custard

In the mood for some Wisconsin-style frozen custard? This is your stop.

7. George's Ice Cream and Sweets

Located on the Northside, this place has unreal sundaes with the best toppings. Trust me, you will leave very satisfied.

8. Bobtail Ice Cream

Right on North Broadway Street, Bobtail has some of the best homemade ice cream along with some great specialty flavors.

9. Paciugo Chicago Broadway

Also on North Broadway, Paciugo Chicago serves some of the best gelato and frappes. Some come in especially when they need a coffee fix!

10. Lickity Split Frozen Custard & Sweets

Come in for some great frozen custard at Lickity. Not only do they have frozen custard, they also serve retro candy and great pastries.

11. Windy City Sweets

Another great place located on N Broadway, a classic candy store filled with colorful confections, plus homemade fudge, ice cream, and gift baskets.

12. Margie's Candies

If you're willing to take a little drive, head over to Margie's and I'm sure you will never want to leave!

So yes, Chicago offers endless summer activities, but it also offers some of the best ice cream places around. These will be worth your while. Take the time to enjoy your sundae on a hot summer day!

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
