I'll be honest, when I moved off campus and to my own house, I could only confidently cook scrambled eggs, pasta, and any cake mix that came in a box. So I had two options. I could either learn some new recipes or be broke from going out to eat all the time. I chose to learn a few things, and here are some of my favorite easy recipes. Trust me, if I can do it, you can do it.
1. Baked Mac and Cheese
This recipe is seriously so easy and tastes way better than the boxed stuff. All you have to do is throw some pasta, cheese, and alfredo sauce in a dish and stick it in the over. Easy peasy.
These are also so easy to make and a way better alternative to whatever fast food joint you live a mile away from. I like to buy pre-cut chicken when I make these, so the recipe is even easier.
3. Stir Fry
Eating stir fry is a great way to make sure you're eating vegetables without eating steamed broccoli all the time. If you don't want to make your own sauce, the stuff you buy at the store tastes just as good.
4. Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta
At first, I was skeptical about trying this one, but it is definitely a great recipe that everyone liked. I made it for a few of my friends, and was sad when we didn't have left overs.
Chili is a winter time favorite of mine, and this recipe really switches it up. Plus, there's always a ton left over, so you have leftovers for easy lunches!
6. Banana Bread
I know this isn't a dinner recipe, but banana bread is good at any point during the day, and everyone should know how to make it. Sometimes, I add chocolate chips to take it to the next level!
7. Homemade Pizza
These Chef Boyardee pizza kits actually make a really good homemade pizza! Just follow the instructions on the box!
and when all else fails...
8. Breakfast for dinner
Eggs and toast are both super easy to make, and much better than eating out alternatives. Add some fruit, and you have an entire meal!
