Convince me.
Hard evidence.
More than colors — textures — heat.
More than aesthetic or
eloquent delivery.
Show me proof undeniable.
More than commas — words — carefully crafted love
letters.
Does it make me a cynic?
Or maybe naïve
to desire an action — gesture — verb?
Maybe…
not.
Enough of empty — masked — skin deep.
Enough of value found in face.
Don’t show me beauty — pleasant — grand.
Don’t show me a front;
surface is worthless.
I need you to
convince me.
This poem was written about the idea that we can't be all talk. That whether I'm talking to myself, someone else, or someone I love, or even about my faith-- words are nothing if they aren't backed up by action. Just as faith without deeds is dead, love without action is dead, and a life that's all-talk is empty and lacking in substance.
Today, I present this photo alongside a select few portraits of a beautiful couple who's love is some of the closest I've ever seen to being absolutely genuine. Here's to taking a leap of faith and doing whatever it takes to mean what we say, and to love with all we've got. S/O to these guys pictured below for being the best ever.
(seriously, though- their love is like a real-life fairytale).
