Snapchat has always had a different audience when it comes to its users. Their primary activity comes from young teenagers and young adults, but according to an article on ama.org, more and more older adults are making Snapchat accounts. I think the reason why Snapchat is gaining more older adult users is because Snapchat keeps adding new updates and functions to their app.

The popular image messaging app has rapidly changed from the time it was created back in 2011. The concept was you can send a photo to your friends, but they can only see it for 10 seconds or less and it would disappear. Snapchat soon evolved with more options like sending a chat through text to someone, videos, MyStory, funny face filters, and now you can even get your news through Snapchat with the discover feature.

With their strong brand awareness through millennials, more and more adults are now downloading the app. The creators of Snapchat are always implementing new ideas to make them stand out from other social media platforms and I think that is what makes them so great as a company. They are really innovative and are not afraid to think outside the box. Snapchat is unique because it shows you in real time what your friends are doing on a daily basis. The MyStory feature is so popular that other social media sites have adopted this feature and have put an option to post a "story" on their social sites.

Earlier last week, Snapchat made buzz again within the social media world when they rolled out their new update of context cards.

Not too long ago Snapchat allowed users to link their Bitmojis to allow their friends to see on a map where their location is at. Now, Snapchat is taking it to the next level by partnering with other companies such as OpenTable and Lyft to be incorporated in the app.

How it Works

Snapchat developed these things called context cards where you can tap on one of your friends and see their location. Then, they give you the option to swipe up for more info on that location. It will give you the time that it opens/closes, website info, and so much more. If you like a certain restaurant that is tagged in a friends photo, you can just swipe up and it can redirect you to make reservations through OpenTable. The same thing goes with Lyft or Uber. You see a cool location on the SnapMap and want to go there? Simple, just swipe up and you can access these apps instantly.

I think these new context cards are a really great feature and shows how creative the creators of Snapchat really are and that they are always improving ways to grow their business, but most importantly their brand. The context cards have been available for about a week now so make sure to update; I know I did!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
