So if it's not already obvious, I enjoy conspiracy theories. They are very interesting, and often times make so much sense that it's creepy! A friend of mine introduced me to Shane Dawson about a year ago and he's definitely my go-to for legitimateness, so here are a few theories I've learned about from him that are my absolute favorite!

1. The Mandela Effect

Okay, so in case you haven't heard of this, the Mandela Effect is basically a theory that talks about a lot of people remembering something one way, but then when you look back, everyone was wrong.

It is believed to be because of parallel universes and possible mishaps that have occurred during time travel.

Now, I know that this sounds pretty far fetched, but when you watch all of the videos made about this theory, it really makes sense and you realize that the way you remember something may not be as accurate as you thought.

2. Fake Moon Landing Theory

As everyone knows, the United States became the first country to successfully land on the moon back in 1969; or did we? Sure, it was televised and we had "proof," but there are also a few holes in this story.

As Shane explains in his video, the Moon Landing theory is trying to say that when we laded on the moon five decades ago, we actually just pretended to. Numerous countries were competing to get there first and we were falling behind, so we had to do something, even if that meant fooling everyone else by creating a set to look like the moon and airing our "landing" on national television.

One example that really made me believe this theory was the way that you can't see a single star in the background of the video. I understand that it was very old technology, but being in space, I feel that at at least a few stars would be bright enough to be somewhat visible on camera. Obviously there is no 100% accurate proof on this, but after seeing multiple videos about this theory, I completely believe in it's legitimacy.

3. The Sinking of the "Titanic"

In 1912 the Titanic sank, killing over 1500 people, or did the Olympic? There are a lot of important details in this one, but I'm going to try to summarize. Basically, the Olympic was an old ship that was bound to crash soon anyway, so the company figured, "Why not change this to the Titanic and get more insurance money when it sinks?"

Besides the possibility of this mindset, there are numerous other details that back up this theory, between the number of portholes on each ship, sunken ship evidence that was discovered, and even the confession of a man while he was on his death bed. For the full, most accurate story, Shane's video is the way to go because he is sure to explain all of his evidence in depth.

4. Celebrities and the Illuminati

Shane has mentioned on countless occasions that he believes celebrities are a part of the illuminati, and I personally agree. He sees it as them selling their soul for fame, and when it is applied to individuals with the evidence, it seems to make a lot of sense.

5. Slow iPhones Theory

This theory isn't quite as creepy as some of the others I've mentioned, but it's something a lot of people know about and question pretty often. As new iPhones are released, old ones tend to slow down.

Research shows that as new phones come out, people are searching why their phones re becoming so slow. Maybe because Apple purposely does this so you feel the need to buy a new phone. In past interviews Apple denied this completely, but more recently they admitted they do this, but they say it's to help the battery.

Whether they're telling the truth or not, it has been proven that phones do become slower overtime, and it's not an accident.

6. Murder Theories

Shane has repeatedly discussed theories about kidnappings and murders on his channel. In all honesty, some of them are a bit far-fetched, but others seem to really hit the nail on the head. There are way too many to go into detail with, but they are all worth checking out and finding your opinion on their accuracy.

6. Phone Microphone Hacking

Have you ever been scrolling through your feed on some random social media website and then you come across an ad for something you wouldn't necessarily need, but it's something you've recently seen on a TV commercial or made a reference to?

Yeah, a lot of people have. It's believed by a wide variety of people that your phone is able to hear everything happening around you and that's why you sometimes get those strange ads.

For future reference, there is a way to turn this setting off on your phone so that it isn't always listening, even though multiple companies have denied this even being a true theory.

7. Fake News

Not to be literally quoting Donald Trump, but there are definitely instances of fake news. One of my favorite clips from this theory was one of a woman riding a kayak because of flooding and just trying to show how much water is surrounding the area.

As she's speaking, two men just walk right past her, which shows that the news staton was really exaggerating the situation. Another interesting one had to do with a protest going on. Many people were shown holding signs but then there was also some accidental footage of the same people being told exactly where to go and stand.

The news station argued that they grabbed a few people from the protest and asked them to be filmed, but it seemed sort of odd the way things were set up. Obviously not everything on the news is fake, but after hearing this theory, I try to keep my eyes open for any "mishaps."

I'd say these are my 7 favorite theories and all of them seem pretty accurate to me but I do know they are just theories meant for entertainment. With that being said, be sure to check out some of these theories if you're interested because some can get pretty deep!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
