I'm Conservative and Pro-LGBTQ, So What?

I like guns, I like capitalism, I like stricter border laws, I like the English language, the American flag....and the right for gay people to marry.

Thank you LORD for the Log Cabin Republicans.

As Gay Pride Month progresses, I feel compelled to write this before it ends.

I used to be there. I used to be a deeply socially conservative person, and followed a form of Christian right and End Time beliefs.

See that pic? You can obviously see it's a gay flag and an American flag together. That is just my symbol of defiance to those who think I can't support both flags.

Because let's face it - if you hate America, then you hate the very country that had the Supreme Court to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide. There's many other nations out there where same sex marriage is illegal, such as the Muslim countries and a lot Christian nations in Africa.

I used to believe that same-sex marriage was evil, and legalizing it would be the end of America as we know what, America was a Christian nation found on Christian principles and blah blah blah. Same was said about a Trump presidency, and yet, months into his administration, I don't see the ground splitting or volcanoes raging.

And I'm going to say the same about same-sex marriage. It's been legalized, and it's been two years, and I don't see no apocalypse or "hail of fire stones" raining down upon America.

Eventually though, there's just a point in my life where I figured out that A LOT of things we humans enjoy, and NEED are against the Bible (officially making it the most screwed up book ever written - making the Koran and ISIS look good and like a bunch of boys scouts), not to mention the Bible's oh-so fond views of women (1 Timothy 2:12, 1 Corinthians 11:6 and Revelation 14:4) and its apparent promotion, no sorry, I take that back - it's ENFORCEMENT of suicidal, hateful and negative thinking (John 12:25, 1 John 2:15) - the point of resembling extremist Jihad.

This, coupled in with the fact that legalizing same-sex marriage has had absolutely no "disastrous" effect on American health and society - is what finally made me crucify and lay my former opposition to same-sex marriage to rest, forever.

By the way, this entire association between homosexuals and AIDS is a lie, a lie propagated by social conservatives (AIDS originated in Africa).

In addition to many of the vicious people I've dealt with (many of them being social conservatives), is what made me realize that trying to stop or fight the LGBTQ rights movement was just, plain useless, let alone pointless.

Not to mention that the very same people fighting against the LGBTQ movement, are descendants of the very same people that defended racial segregation and Jim Crow laws. These descendants are the very same people that can't distinguish a Muslim from an Arab, and cries and whines every time they see Arabic language.

Sure, the people that did the Jim Crow stuff were Democrats, which social conservatives use that as an excuse to defend themselves. But the Democrats WERE THE CONSERVATIVES of the day, and their descendants became the Southern Republicans.

Remember Richard Nixon's "Southern Strategy", in which the entire Dixie literally flip-flopped from the land of the Democrats to one of the largest and heaviest Republican strongholds.

So when I did I change beliefs? I changed them around late 2016 into early 2017. It is when I was browsing around a Facebook page known as "Christians Who Don't Celebrate Christmas" is what made me realize what a screwed up and self-contradicting book the Bible is, and the cult that reflects its beliefs is.

I'm not even going to provide a link, because their beliefs and their posts are just so toxic.

This is when I decided that I was going to fully abandon the spiritual slavery known as Christianity, or at least the conservative form of it.

However, my views on gun control, immigration, English language and free-market capitalism have not changed. I believe in the Right to Bear Arms, as an individual right, and everyone gay or straight, has a right to self-defense. I believe that all immigrants from war-torn and violent nations need to be properly screened, and taught proper English.

Of course, I'm a capitalist, and I believe that the earnings that I work for, I deserve to enjoy. I'm not against taxes, just unnecessary taxes - to which America is unfortunately, being hampered with nowadays.

There, I'm conservative-leaning, but however, I'll diverge with the social conservatives on gay marriage.

The great news is, the conservative-leaning camp is no longer a homophobic group, as there is now a split in the Republican Party over gay marriage, the split we've been looking for.

People must understand that even the conservative camp is progressing and will move on. We are now seeing a development of the new age conservatism, which is not traditional conservatism.

Traditional conservatism is a form of conservatism, a very demented and soon to be archaic form, that will wither away with time. A form that believes in homophobia, racism social stratification and Social Darwinism.

Here's a message to you who support that non-sense: America is no longer your's, and if it ever was, you will never get it back.

If you would like, you are free to move to any of the many "Christian nations" in Africa that still outlaw same-sex marriage.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
