There are so many different ways to see time. You can be late or early. The days can pass fast or slow. It can be the right time, the wrong time, the first time, the last time. Time is the one thing we can never really wrap our heads around because it’s constantly changing around us and it’s constantly changing us.
Lately, I haven’t been very pleased with time. Time has beaten me down but also made the world stop in the past two days. That might not really make sense, but like I said, time is the ultimate thing that makes our lives the way they are. Bearable or unbearable. Happy or sad.
The worst thing about trying to live in the present, to appreciate time you have with people as it comes, for as long as it’s there, is that there may not be a past or a future with them. God has a funny way of throwing people into our lives; He does this for a reason.
Why did you meet that boy in that place at that moment? Because you were supposed to fall for him, get your heart broken in pieces, learn a lesson.
Why did He take away such a close friend, so suddenly? Because we all have a time span for our lives, we’re all meant to make something of ourselves according to His plan for us.
Why didn’t this happen at a different, better time? Because it was meant to happen now, and you’ll figure out what it means in the long run. Just trust that God’s got a plan, better than anything you can imagine, and love the life you’re living.
You’re probably wonder why I’m telling you about time. It’s because I’ve been there. I’ve had time, had no time, had a time limit and run out of time. All in different areas of my life. But what I’m trying to say is that once you find yourself looking back on these moments, they’re so small, yet so infinite.
What I’m trying to say is that when you find yourself smiling at moments that seemed so big at one point in your life, you’ve figured out the reason for them. You’ve figured why God made that happen at that time and you’re grateful that He did.
So while you’re crying over that guy or girl, while you’re holding onto a grudge or while you think your life is falling apart, pray for peace.
Sit in your car with the radio turned down and talk to Him. Out loud. Ask Him why you’re going through what you’re going through. Ask Him to send you patience and grace.
Be patient with Him, for He is patient with you. If you’re like me, you probably don’t talk to Him enough, and when you really need Him, He’s been waiting the whole time.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” –Romans 12:12
We all have our own battles with time, but when we let ourselves have faith in what’s to come and accept what we’re going through, we can conquer it.
I pray that all of you can face any hardships in your lives. All it really takes is closing your eyes, sending up a prayer, and waiting patiently.
God bless!
