You may have noticed a certain trend breaking through the Fall/Winter clothing racks this year that seems far from the norm. Western fashion is being brought to the forefront of street styles, and I am totally here for it. I have been a fan of the Boho, Western trend for the past couple of years, but now it is evolving in a way that it can seamlessly make it into closets around the country.
I am here to show you how you too can add a bit of Western flare to your outfits. It may seem daunting to bring the clothing of the Great Frontier to your personal style, but simple accessories, or details of a garment, can elevate your ensemble to emulate this popular look.
Tops
Tops and sweaters with fringe are a great way to add dimension and flare to an outfit. These will not only keep you warm during the winter months, but add detail to an average cardigan or sweater.

Style it: I would pair this sweater alongside a pair of skinny jeans and booties. The sweater should be the focal point of the outfit.

Bottoms
Throughout the early 2010's, it seemed as if the only jean available were skinny jeans. As the decade has progressed, distressed denim has made itself the ultimate finish for a pair of jeans. Combing the distressed and Western styles allows for bell bottoms and flares to flatter an urban street style.
Raw hems, and slight distress marks on the denim can make the flared pants appear more modern and casual.

Denim Super Flare Jeans ($78) freepeople.com
Style it: A simple top, graphic tee, or sweater will do the trick. The bell bottoms should be the point of emphasis in your outfit!
Shoes
Studs and other metal details are a great way to add a bit of pizazz to simple booties. These can be worn with skirts, skinny jeans, or even jean shorts during the summer, perfect for festival season!

Any pointed-toe boot also alludes to a classic cowboy boot. It also is very flattering by elongating the leg.
Using one of these pieces as a part of a whole ensemble will add the Western edge to an outfit that you're looking for.
