Recently, a video has gone viral showing the Pixar Easter eggs that prove each Pixar movie is connected. For fans who have theorized that all the movies are connected, this is a triumph for the keen and observant eyes. For fans who did not see the connections, their mind has been blown.
For those who have not seen the video, here's the theory that has broken the internet:
In 'Monster's Inc', Sulley enters Boo's room. On the floor within that room is the iconic ball from 'Luxo Jr.', a Jessie Doll, and a Nemo toy. Coincidence? I think not.
Continuing on, Riley from 'Inside Out' was seen in a scene from Finding Dory. Personally, I do not think the little girl looks like Riley from 'Inside Out'. But what do you think? Next time you watch 'Finding Dory' In order to see this Pixar Easter egg, you have to keep your eyes peeled.
In 'Inside Out' a dinosaur from 'Good Dinosaur' can be seen in the distance. In 'Monster's University', the main dinosaur in 'Good Dinosaur' can be found as a toy being cleaned up in the simulation room. In 'Brave', Sulley from 'Monster's Inc' can be seen as an intricate carving. There are so many connections from 'Finding Nemo' to 'The Incredibles' to infinity and beyond.
Although this video is a good way of connecting the movies, it has also missed some of the best golden nuggets. For example, the Pizza Planet truck is in practically every Pixar movie. Another one is Mike Wazowski swimming across the screen as the credits are rolling in 'Finding Nemo'.
Each Pixar film created is connected in a certain way. When a film is created, its successor will have little "Easter eggs". Why has Disney chosen to plant these little nuggets of happiness in every movie? Well, that's a good question.
Here's what I think. Disney is very detail-oriented. I believe Disney knows that most people will not take a fine-tooth comb to their movies to find these eggs. But Disney would rather continue providing us with these "Easter Eggs" in order to keep the magic alive. Disney is also trying to make a point that each film is unique and has its own characters and plot line, but they are also very similar. Probably, more similar than you think. Next time you are watching a Pixar film, even a regular Disney film, keep in mind that there is more than what meets the eye. Dig a little deeper and find the hidden Easter Egg Disney has awaiting your presence.
Or should I say, keep your eye open!
