If you've just graduated and you've already gone through commencement, I'm sure you have a world of relief! To the women who graduated, you don't have to worry about tripping on stage, or having your hair look perfect for the pictures. You no longer have to worry about finding the perfect outfit, or where you should get your nails done. To the men who have already graduated, you had the chance to see the proud glance that your father gave you, and you no longer have to worry about what to wear under your gown. You also don't have to worry about if there's something in your teeth, and you don't have to take 100 pictures with your loved ones (at least not until the next holiday).
For every graduate who has already walked across that stage beaming with pride and joy, this is a time of celebration. Maybe you no longer have to complete that long thesis you've been working on what seems like forever, or you're officially done with taking those dreaded morning classes. To you, I say congratulations. However, there are some things that you'll miss.
You'll miss those meetings with friendly members, that professor that made corny jokes, the student who always had an opinion. You'll miss going out late with friends just to distress, answering in-depth questions in class, and the life advice that you learned while in college. You'll miss walking on campus and getting a kind hello from someone you know. Basically, every once in awhile, I think we will all miss being a college student.
So, for those of you who only have a limited time left as a student, enjoy it, because it flies right on by. And to the new graduates, now is your time to shine. Shine in that important interview, shine in graduate school, shine in representing your university. You've made your family so incredibly proud, but now it's time to put all that hard work to use by finding your career. Be patients, persistent, and humbly proud that you are a college graduate.
Oh, and you may want to keep this in mind...
Your schooling may be over, but remember that your education still continues. -Unknown
