Inauguration Day 2017, the swearing in of our 45th President

Congratulations, Mr. President
Aaron Ketteridge

"Whether we are black, brown, or white, WE all bleed the same red blood as patriots." -President Donald J. Trump in his Inaugural Address.

Today, Janurary 20th, 2017, the 45th President of the United States of America was inaugurated into office. Today is the beginning of a new presidency, a new era, and the end of a past era and past presidency. Today we say good bye to our first african-american president, and hello to our new president. The next four years there will be many changes as there are with each new president.

We are all Americans, whether we are republicans, democrats, or libertarians, We are all ONE nation under God, indivisible with justice and liberty for all. We must do our best to become one and build a stronger nation TOGETHER rather than continuing to tear each other down. We must unite to support OUR president whether you voted for him or not. Wishing for OUR President to fail is like wishing for the pilot to crash the plane.

I must say this, although I was not a huge fan of President Obama, he was still my president. I may not have liked some of his policies and views, but I still respected him and his office. I will also say this, I do not support all of President Trump's views, but he is still my president and I will still respect his office.

Congratulations Mr. President.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
