14 Signs That You're Addicted To Working

Let's be honest, not every teenager has the luxury of being handed everything they want. Some of us actually have to use a little elbow grease to get the things we desire. Part-time, minimum wage jobs are the key to many teenage bank accounts. Whether it be fast food, retail, or family businesses; we bust our butts almost daily to get that paycheck. Good work ethic has started to become extinct in this day in age, but a few of us still have a knack for hard work. Those of us who have that quality are often known as "Workaholics."

1. You have multiple jobs or just work an outlandish amount of hours for still being a kid.

Why work the minimum, when you could just work all the time instead? Am I right?

2. You are often looking for another job to add to the list.

"Being a waitress sounds fun, I think I'll apply there."

3. When someone asks you to cover their shift.

More hours mean more money, so of course you're going to cover that Saturday shift for Suzie.

4. Overtime is a blessing and a curse.

The overtime looks great on a paycheck, but not so great on your sleep schedule.

5. Your sleep schedule is whacked.

If we're being real here, you have no sleep schedule. You sleep any time that you may be available, and you've become a professional at power naps.

6. Microwaveable dinners have become real meals to you.

When there's no time to actually cook something, the Banquet dinners have your back.

7. You never actually take all of your breaks.

Sure, a few minutes of sitting sounds nice, but you have important things to get done. You can always take a break when you get home.

8. You have money out the wazoo, but no time to spend it.

It doesn't sound awful until you've lived it, but having money burning a hole in your pocket is torture.

9. "I can't. I have to work"

It's pretty much your catchphrase. At this rate, it will probably be your last words.

10. Making plans with you requires an appointment.

"I'm free on Wednesday between six and 10 o'clock."

11. When you're actually blessed with a day off, you're not sure what to do with yourself.

You want to spend time with friends, but you also have to leave time for errands, personal hygiene, chores, and personal hygiene. You usually end up taking a nap.

12. You've lost "friends" because of work.

"You're always at work." You never make time for me." "You never do anything fun anymore."

13. But your coworkers have become some of your best friends, so it's okay.

They actually understand the time management struggle. Plus, you see them all the time since you're always at work.

14. You really do love your job, even if you do complain about it all the time.

The lack of free time sucks, but you really do enjoy the work you do. It may not be where you want to work for the rest of your life, but it's an experience that you will cherish forever.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
