We all have that one friend who is always complaining about having no money, but insists on going to the mall or our out to lunch any chance she gets. Maybe you're like me, and you are that friend. The friend that lives paycheck to paycheck and justifies every purchase made with every swipe of the credit card. Here are the confessions of a college student guilty of being a shopaholic.
1. You Justify Every Purchase
*Buys two new pairs of jean for $58* "That's two pairs of jeans for the price of one!" or "Well I would have spent that on gas, so I have the right to treat myself!"
2. Swiping the Credit Card
Swiping the credit card gives you a sense of happiness even if it's only for the time being. You love swiping your card on anything and everything! Groceries, gas, clothes, shoes- You're in big trouble if you have a reward card like me, because that just gives you more of a reason to use it...right?!
3. You HATE Using Cash (or never have it)
If you're like me, you hate using real money when you have it, even if it makes more sense to use cash instead of racking up the credit card bill. Having that cash in your wallet or pocket makes you feel like you're not totally broke, or at least that you have some savings...sort of.
4. Eating vs New Clothes (or shoes, or makeup, or whatever you like)
It all comes down to the food you want/need to buy or the new outfit you want to purchase. You have hard decisions to make. Do you really need another pair of pants or do you want those chicken wings? You'll most likely end up getting both.
5. Bargin Shopper
Although friends don't believe you when you say you've got really good deals, you really do get the best deals. Whenever you shop you go straight for the sales and clearance racks, shopping at stores like TJ Maxx & Marshalls. You're also not afraid to shop at second-hand shops like Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
6.Online Shopping
Nothing beats a long hard stressful day or week of classes and work than finding some great deals online at your favorite stores from the comfort of your dorm, apartment, or your own home! You're just as good at finding deals online as you are in the stores!
7. Coupons & Rewards
The BEST part of shopping, aside from the things you buy, are the rewards and coupons you get to use on your future purchase. Most coupons can be used on sale and clearance items so you get even more for your money!
