If you’ve been on a high school or college campus in the past few years, you have most likely seen a pair of Chacos at some point. These clunky, vibrant sandals have been adorning the feet of people of all ages for several years. Though most who wear Chacos value them on some level, it takes a special type of person to be labeled as a Chacoholic.
They are my go-to shoe.
I will admit that they are not the most attractive shoe on the market. I prefer to refer to them as “adorably ugly.” Even still, they match with almost every outfit in my closet and are perfect for most occasions. (Okay, maybe they don't actually go with every outfit, but I to try my hardest to make sure that they do.)
In fact, I may have more than one pair of Chacos.
Though they are a bit pricey, they are worth every penny. Investing in shoes I know I will wear constantly and for multiple years doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. Besides, with so many cute patterns and colors, it’s really hard just to pick one favorite. Red, blue, green, or black, there are just so many colors to choose from.
I wear my Chacos almost every day, three seasons out of the year.
And I have done so for many years now. In the spring, I know my toes are dying for a little fresh air, so it seems like the perfect time to bring them back out. When it’s hot in the summer, Chacos are the perfect shoe to wear for a lot of outdoor activities.
Even though it’s technically fall, I'm still wearing Chacos to class.
Actually, so are a lot of other people. It’s hard to let go of my staple summer shoe as soon as October hits. I’ll probably continue to wear them as long as it’s even semi-warm outside. Saying good-bye is hard, and I don't want to have to do it any earlier than necessary.
I've also considered wearing “sockos” (socks+Chacos) in the winter.
It sounds like a good idea in theory, but I don't think that's one I'm going to adopt anytime soon.
Yes, I do have a Chacos tan line.
As any Chacos fan knows, having a Chacos tan line is vital to the summer season. Chacos tan lines are not something to be ashamed of; in fact, true Chacos enthusiasts strive to make theirs more pronounced than others. I may have even been known to tan with my Chacos on for the sole purpose of enhancing that tan line. We can compare tan lines, but you will most likely lose.
I may get a little defensive when others accuse me of wearing Chacos because of style trends.
I wear Chacos because I want to, not based on social trends or what others say. If that means that I'm one of 50 people wearing them in my classes, so be it.
I have taken pictures in my Chacos, and have even posted some of them on social media.
I know people who have even tweeted pictures of themselves in their Chacos using the hashtag #chaconation hoping that @chacousa would respond or even retweet their picture.
I have an instant connection with any other Chacos enthusiast that I meet.
Let's face it, I love to talk about Chacos to anyone who walks by. Meeting someone else who listens and shares that love? That shouldn't be taken lightly.
I know that Chacos can add a bit of flair and style to any outfit.
That's part of the reason why I love them so much. Have a cute sundress? Pair it with Chacos to create the perfect outfit. Because of their many different color and design options, it’s easy to find a pair that enhances and complements your personal style.
In the end, I know I can always count on my pair of Chacos to be there for me for years to come.
