Being a parent is hard work. From waking up at 6 am to feed your little angels breakfast before school, to the nights where you can't get your baby to sleep until the crack of dawn: everyone needs a little break. That's where we come in, your friendly neighborhood daycare workers. Whether it be the YMCA or your local gym: you know your kids are in good hands. But there are a few things you may or may not know!
1. Check-in is the WORST
Never ending lines of parents in a rush to drop their kids off and make it to their fitness class on time is often very chaotic and quite loud. We try our best to get everyone in as quickly as possible, but please be patient with us.
2. Watching all the kids come through the front door at the beginning of the day
Hands down one of the most exciting times of the day
3. Watching all the kids come through the front door 30 minutes before closing time
4. And when you finally get the kid that's been screaming for 20 minutes to calm down and no one acknowledges it
YOU'RE WELCOME
5. We say it's fine for you to come in just to say hi to your kid halfway through, but secretly we wish you wouldn't
PLEASE RESIST THE TEMPTATION TO VISIT YOUR CHILD HALFWAY THROUGH YOUR WORKOUT, BREAK, ETC. I can't emphasize this enough. As much as we LOVE to see the joy in the kid's faces when they see mommy or daddy, PLEASE don't stop in to say hi or "check on them" unless you're coming to pick them up. When they see you, they think you're picking them up and when you leave again the meltdown is worse than the first time :( We promise to call you if they're too sad or we can't calm them down!
6. Your kids repeat EVERYTHING you say or do
We know everything. No secrets are safe when you have toddlers!!!
6. They also tell us what you don't do
Like how they don't see daddy because he never gets home before bedtime or how mommy can't play because she "she likes the beers"
7. The random hugs keep us going
Not much is better than be genuinely loved by a child
8. Sometimes it's a little sad when our favorite child of the day gets picked up
Especially when they give us a big hug before leaving
9. Getting home after a day of caring for 40 (plus or minus a few dozen) screaming children is so fulfilling, but OH SO exhausting
But we wouldn't trade it for the world.
10. Getting to work with your kids everyday is the best job we could have ever imagined
We love you and we love your children! Thank you for trusting us to keep them safe♥♥♥♥♥
