I am usually the last person to get on any kind of bandwagon. I am the type or person who will resist following a crowd even if I think that I might like the product. If everyone's wearing Brand A, I'm going to look for Brand B and try to find it at a better price. Get me the best deal, and if I can't find a good price, I'm not getting it. Sorry not sorry.
With all of that said, I have a confession. I have joined the excitement that is Lularoe. I didn't think I would because I was one of those people that cringed at the idea of leggings as pants for a very, very long time. A whole business built around it? Get out of here. Nope, no way I'm getting into that. And those prices!! I already said how much I like a good deal, and these prices made my head spin!
But then, my awesome cousin Brittany started selling it. I wanted to support her, so I joined her group and won a free skirt! Awesome! It was a pretty cool skirt, but it didn't really suit my style so I ended up trading with a friend for a pair of the leggings. The same day, I won $10 in Lulacash. That's when everything started to change...
Both leggings arrived on the same day. The leggings I got from the trade are BRIGHT red and I honestly was kind of hesitant to wear them. They were SO bright I could hardly picture anything that would look good with them, but they looked pretty good with my long sweater dress and knee high boots to bring in a pop of color. Okay, awesome! The other pair were a black and white lattice... those are the leggings with which I fell in love.
If you've never tried Lularoe, just go touch them. They're everywhere now. I can't count the number of people I saw this weekend around town wearing them. I cannot express to you in words just how soft these things are. They are like a warm and fuzzy hug. But I loved my two pair of leggings and didn't picture getting anymore anytime soon until I saw the piano leggings come out. Those I KNEW that I needed. I love to play piano and these leggings would let me bring that love everywhere I went. I even wore them with a dress to work one day and got lots of compliments on the outfit. I was really hesitant about it when I looked in the mirror in the morning, but apparently I pulled it off. Win!
Now I have gotten a couple of pair for my son who has no waist. His pants are always either high water or falling off of his bottom. There's really no in between, but leggings us has given us an option of fun prints he can pick and they fit him well while letting him run and play in the way that four-year-olds love.
I do draw a line in the sand, though. Some people take this, like many trends, very seriously. If I miss a print I want, I will be sad, but I'm not going to rage quit the whole concept. I'm not going to pay three times higher than retail. I'm not going to go into buying wars. I'll get what's available and be a very happy lady.
So now I'm the... okay, maybe not always proud, but very happy owner of three pair of leggings for adults, two pair of leggings for kids, one "Nicole" dress and I have a maxi skirt that I hope will arrive in tomorrow's mail. I guess they have me hooked. Congratulations, Lularoe. You've made a product that I actually think is worth the price that I have to pay for them. That's hard to do.
