Anyone who knows me can tell you that I go to a lot of concerts. Because I go to so many concerts I started to pick up on some concert tips and tricks that have helped me enjoy the experience even more. Here are some concert hacks that I've accumulated throughout the years that you can use for your upcoming concerts:
1. Download the Bandsintown app.
This is an amazing app that all concert lovers need to know about. I cannot express how useful this app is for avid concert goers like myself. The app syncs your music library and sees what artists you like or would like and organizes all their concert dates based on location. You can also track artists, RSVP to events, and more. This app is a must for every concert lover!
2. Check out Setlist.fm to look up the tour's setlist ahead of time
Setlist.fm has all the artist's previous setlists from past shows on their website! You can look up what the artist's setlist has been for preious tour dates on tour or their pasts tours. I also like to make screenshot the setlist and make it my phone for reference during the concert.
3. Check out Wheresmyseat.com
This website let's you see the view from your seat at almost any venue! It's also great to use if you're trying to buy tickets and want to get a better idea of what you're paying for!
4. Make sure you stay hydrated!
I've seen way too many people pass out during a concert due to not drinking enough water. Make sure you stay hydrated the day of a concert to avoid this and dehydration! Also make sure you get a filling meal in you before the show. Food at concerts are usually extremely overpriced and you might have to wait forever in the lines for food.
5. Taking videos and pictures during a concert
It's a great way to capture the moment. However, make sure you don't spend the entire time taking videos and pictures or you'll miss the concert! Enjoy the experience first and foremost and try to take only a few pictures and videos here and there.
6. Give the opening at a chance!
There are so many people who totally dismiss the opening act by going to the bathroom during them or showing up to the show after they perform. Odds are if they're opening for a band you like they're going to have a similar style of music. I've actually discovered a lot of my favorite bands through listening to the opening acts!
7. Bring a portable charger with you
You can buy relatively cheap portable chargers on Amazon or at Marshall's or T.J. Maxx. This is especially helpful for General Admission shows or shows with soundcheck beforehand.
8. Whether you're front row or back row you will have just as much fun!
As cheesy as it sounds there is no such thing as a bad seat at a concert.
