A concept: aliens who don't have super advanced technology as we assume they do, but instead they are going through their Renaissance era.
A concept: aliens that are improving, though, and space travel is something of the past because they harnessed the materials from their planets for fuel that doesn't even compare to diesel. It is as mundane to them as an elevator trip.
A concept: planets adorned with white pillars, marble palaces, and masterpieces that could be mistaken for those seen in Ottoman cathedrals, if it weren't for the ethereal figures depicted in colors that human eyes cannot interpret.
A concept: philosophies of coexistence and peace and prosperity for all. Instead of wanting to invade earth as humans tend to believe, these aliens want to excel in art and science and learn about their strange homes. They aren't conquerors or attackers; they are merely residents.
A concept: an alien makes contact with the planet we call home. Instead of engaging in war, it simply implements its ideals into ancient Greek culture, but homesickness washes over it and it leaves before we find out it was ever there in the first place. It leaves nothing but a single marble statuette in a forgotten pantheon, one that an archæologist discovers the next morning, selling it and sells to a museum under the name statue of an unknown Greek god, 450 BCE.
A concept: another alien makes contact with the planet we call home. This time, we find out. Afraid of what an alien might do, we cage it like a songbird in brass; and, like a songbird in brass, it begins to sing.
