Compliments can make a person's day and everyone loves receiving them. They can bring you up and boost your confidence, but I believe compliments should be more genuine and unique. The best compliments are the ones that are out of the blue and different from what you usually hear. Here are some of the best compliments I have ever received that I think need to be shared more.

10."You keep me on my toes."

When someone tells you that you are always keeping them excited and always surprised it feels great. Nothing like knowing that your spontaneity and fun side is exactly what someone else loves about you.

9. "You have great music taste."

Letting someone into your music library is like giving them a little insight to what you like, don't like and how you are feeling. When you let someone in and they respond saying how much they loved it you can't help but feel happy. Plus there is nothing like finding a person who shares the same music interest with you.

8. "I love how passionate you are about ______."

Sharing your passions with another person is already a huge step. When they compliment you on something that you truly love, there is nothing like it.

7. "I enjoyed doing a group project with you."

Group projects suck, that's the bottom line. So it's great when someone compliments you by saying, "Yeah this was the worst time of my life, but you made it bearable."

6.“You have a great personality.”

Compliments about physical traits are great but there is nothing like someone complimenting your inner beauty. Your personality is what makes you, you. When someone mentions how much they like your personality it can make you feel amazing.

5."I enjoy your weirdness."

Being yourself in front of someone else can be scary. When a person compliments your weird side it can make all the difference.

4.“I love your laugh.”

Laughs are unique to each person and some people are very self-conscious about them. This is something that you cannot change about yourself and it is one of the most genuine compliments you can give and receive.

3.“I could talk to you forever.”

If you are someone like me, who could talk for hours or is constantly talking in circles, this compliment is very comforting to hear. Sometimes it feels like no one cares what you are saying and being reassured that you words matter and that someone is listening is one of the best feelings.

2.“You make my heart happy.”

This is one of the most unique compliments you can give. This compliment encompasses how you not only make their whole being happy, but their heart and it doesn't get much better than that.

1. “I want to be like you."

Whether this comes from a little kid to a friend, this compliment is one that never gets old. There is something special about someone saying that you as a whole are amazing and that you are a person someone honestly wants to be like. This compliment can leave a person smiling for days.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
