So, commuting and just taking the bus, in general, has a bad rep. And trust me I know that taking the bus ain't always a ray of sunshine but I'm all about looking at the bright side. So I hope this gives you a bit of a new perspective and you start enjoying that bus commute.

1. You don't have to pay for gas

Let me tell you, gas is expensive as flip and it just keeps increasing in price. So, bless up and taking the bus for only $1.75 a ride.

2. You can take a nap instead of driving

Been there done that. Was I planning to nap? No not really but hey I don't have to worry about driving so might as well enjoy.

3. If you forgot to do homework now's the time to do it

So I've tried doing this and it actually works. Most of my best work actually comes from that morning commute to work.

4. If you're social enough, you can make friends

Fun fact: I met my best friend in middle school during a bus ride. We took that bus for all three years together and she's still my bestie to this day. So who knows, you might just meet your best friend on that commute.

5. It's a good time to listen to that podcast you need to catch up on

I just started listening to podcasts and it has changed my life. They are the perfect thing to wake me up in the morning and entertain me throughout that long ride even though I have a serious thinking face while listening.

6. You can jam out internally to your music

This is literally me inside. Ok, so I'm going, to be honest. I wish I could outwardly jam out to my music but sadly that would be super weird. So I'll stick to tapping my finger and bopping my head every once in a while.

7. You're helping the environment

Thats right, it's like a huge carpool opportunity.

8. You don't have to worry about parking

When you drive to a busy place finding parking can literally take HOURS! So do yourself a favor and save yourself that time.

9. You don't have to pay for parking

Yeah $12 a day for parking, not happening. Do you know how many things I could buy with that kind of money?

10. You have an ETA that is usually spot on

That estimated time of arrival is usually spot on, so don't you even worry about being late.

11. It will give you many stories to tell

There will be good ones and bad ones but at the end of the day, a story is a story. And those bus rides stories are the ones that never get old and that you never forget

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
