Most of us have something that drives us to reach our goals, or keeps us afloat during finals week. For me, I need my community, which varies between my friend-groups. I believe that people unite us and give us motivation to be our best. We want to place ourselves within a community that will support us and push us to better ourselves.

We all need an outlet to get away from the chaos and suppression of the stressful daily grind. I usually turn to my community to get away from my daily stresses. However, the very idea of community can be vague if you are connected to various networks. I am involved in a few areas on campus, and most times I usually find that my coworkers can provide a good time by playing FIFA, getting coffee at the best cafes in town, or kicking back with wine and cheese. They are my support and they are the reason I survive.

Community is essential to our survival at any age because our community gives us a family and it offers us perspective. My coworkers definitely pass for family to me because they will always support me and shoot me encouraging texts when I'm feeling down. Community is a system of existence and human functionality. Without it, we might distance ourselves from the greatness the world has to offer us. Family is where you find a home; it is the people that you trust the most and invest incredible amounts of time into.

Let me give offer three reasons why you need a community:

1. A community guarantees you friends who care about your well-being.

A community is a group of friends you can always turn to, people who care about you. They should be your outlet, and they are the people you want to make lasting memories with. They won't let you down when you need to relax and have a good time.

2. We need people we can call family.

Throughout life, we will reach phases that will close one chapter and open another. Along this journey we want to meet people who will call us at 3 a.m. when they need help, and you hope they will answer their phone at 3 a.m. if you need them, too. Family are the people who you love, and who will wipe your tears away and ease your worries. Family will overcome any obstacle.

3. We need to be loved.

This is an essential to living a fulfilled life because families love, and we need love to feel complete. You should get your moment in the spotlight when you deserve it and your family should be able to offer that support. Love is a strong feeling that makes us welcome and it drives us to do incredible things, so we need to be loved by our community to call them family.

Find the place you fit the best, and the people who welcome you, care for you, and love you in order to live a good and healthy life. Community is our biggest strength, and without it we may let our weaknesses overcome us.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
