What's Going On?

A bit on hookups

What's Going On?
rush hour

This summer I have met new people online also while walking alone, Being the girl that I am, I end up exchanging numbers with them of course we both agree in exchanging numbers. Yet, sometimes I forget to text these potential friends because I am busy or sometimes I just feel like I have nothing to say.

I mean a girl can only do so much when you get asked " what are you doing?" every few hours during the week. Like it is summer and all I am doing is sleeping, EATING, and catching up on my shows and do you really find that interesting? probably not. In all honesty, I just want to text I am being a slob, do not judge me. And no I am not always a boring person but hey if all you do is text me "what are you doing?" or "are you home?" chances are if I text you I will take my sweet time. I will tell you I am busy when you ask me if I am home because well I did just meet you and no you are not welcome in my house. I do not know what you want, okay I do and boy bye. But then again I am not really sure like can you just be straight up and tell me. Come on I do not like playing mind games.

Like I get it, we are living in this hookup culture so relationships are not really being taken seriously but just because I agreed and gave you my number does not mean I am being part of the hook-up culture. I personally give my number out to people if they ask for it because I want to meet new people. I am interested in learning from people and going on adventures and if we end up liking each other well why not but it does suck when the other person is not telling you what is going on in their head.

So, before you have people waste their time or before you waste yours just be straightforward and let people know what you are looking for. I guarantee you, it is a lot easier for the both of you.

And if you happen to be an individual that is looking for a friends with benefits relationship, well communicate that as soon as possible with the person you are talking too. Do agree on terms, protect yourself, and if you need to do get tested for STDs. Most importantly, always remember that both if you need to agree on things.

Also, if you do not know what you are looking for make it clear cause no one likes to waste their time or likes to wonder what the hell is happening between y'all. Anyway stay safe.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
