To any college student reading this: congratulations, you finally made it through finals week and you are finally home for the holidays! After a long week full of work, papers, and tests, we are finally home for a nice break. Here is what it is like to come home from college for winter break, as told by the cast of "Friends":

Walking into your house after a full day of traveling from school to home

No matter how much you slept on your way home, you are still exhausted after a long travel day. Boy are you ready for a long break full of sleep, and even more sleep.

Getting at least 10 hours of sleep your first night home

You are a sleep deprived college student who just endured a long semester, your parents should not expect you to sleep any less.

Taking a really long shower and using up all of the hot water in your house

You just spent 4 months sharing a shower with everyone on your floor, you deserve to take a long, hot shower (without shower shoes) to feel clean and refreshed.

Eating real food (that is not from the dining hall)

You missed nothing more than a home cooked meal by your parents, even if your parents' cooking isn't the best. Anything tastes better than dining hall food.

Reuniting with your best friends

Running into old high school friends,

And running into people you wish you could avoid

Catching up on everyone's lives

And learning juicy gossip about your former classmates.

And most importantly, spending time with your family (who you missed so much)

I hope everyone has a good holiday and a good winter break!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
