Spring Break. The one week in the year when you get to take a "break" from all the classwork that you are drowning in during the spring semester. Not really much of a break when you get assigned a whole bunch of work to do at home anyways, but that's a different story. We all know that coming back from break is hard. For those of you who don't get the struggle, let me enlighten you.

The Last Supper

Right before you come back to campus, you have your last meal. This is the last time for a while that you will actually get to enjoy a home cooked meal before you come back again in the summer. During this, you feel like you have to eat everything and anything that's around because it is probably better than the diner food that you will have to deal with for the rest of the semester. You savor every single bite as if it were your last meal ever.

Saying Goodbye To Your Parents

At this point, your parents have gotten used to saying goodbye to you. This time, they give you the talk about how proud they are and that you "need to finish the semester out strong." They are your number one fan of course, and as much as you love college, it's still hard to leave them behind. So, not only do you feel sad because you're going to miss home, but you also are nervous to let your parents down because your motivation is still on break.

Feeling Out Of Sync

You come back from break and you feel like you forgot your brain at home. You don't really remember what you need to do and you don't really remember when the next important class due dates are. You have to go through all of your things again to make sure you have everything to continue the semester. You basically reset yourself and try to get back into the swing of things. You are trying fix your sleep schedule, trying to stay away from the Netflix addiction, and trying to go back into school mode.

The First Morning Back

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* There it is again... the dreadful sound that you haven't heard in what seems like forever. You will probably hit snooze a few times before you actually drag yourself out of bed. When is the last time you got up this early? Oh yeah, it was only about a week ago. Still, it is a struggle to get ready and head to class. You wish you could just go back to bed.

The Morning Person

It's Monday and the first day back from break. You are ready to get the day over with. Then there is always that overly happy morning person who is ecstatic to be back and who is trying to spread the cheer around. If only we could all be happy Monday morning people.

Busy Schedules Begin Again

"The learning continues." You have exams, piles of homework and are still trying to balance all of your other responsibilities at the same time. Eat, sleep, work, repeat. Welcome back!

Is This Worth It?

You start contemplating all of your life decisions and start thinking "Is this all worth it?" And the answer is: HECK YES. You need an education! You need a good future! Keep the grind going and you'll keep getting closer and closer to the prize.

We're All In This Together

Don't worry, other people are feeling the same! I'm stressed, you're stressed, we're all stressed. College is going to be hard sometimes, but at least you have all your friends to lean on.

Good luck! You got this. Keep working hard and don't forget to make room for fun. Make the best of the time you do have. Summer will be here before you know it.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
