Comics And Movies: Difference In The Origins of Ultron, Vision & Portrayal of Hank Pym
Marvel

The recent marvel movies have not been completely accurate to the comics. Although I understand the creative license that Marvel productions took with the original stories, I wanted to try and give some comic background to people who have only seen the movies.

The main points that I will be focusing on are the creation of Ultron, Vision, and the story of Hank Pym.

First, Dr. Hank Pym was one of the most brilliant minds on the planet, on par with Mr. Fantastic (AKA Reid Richards) and Iron Man (AKA Tony Stark). Hank Pym's "powers" are not natural, but instead come from a rare group of subatomic particles he found and called "Pym Particles". He discovered that when ingested, the particles can alter the size of matter allowing him to shrink and grow.

He also created a helmet that allowed him to talk to and control ants. He also shared this technology with his future wife ,Janet Van Dyne, who adopted the persona Wasp.

Both were among the original members of the Avengers. Most of this, however, was in the recent Ant Man movie (except for his and Janet's part in the Avengers).

What was not metioned, however, was that Pym also took on the persona Giant Man when he became tired of being a "small superhero". He now able to grow to extraordinary heights, but soon the strain became too hard on his body and he quit the Avengers.

Soon, however, Janet was kidnapped my Altuma, and then by the Collector. When Pym dsicovered this, he reluctantly re-joined the Avengers and changed his name and costume to Goliath.

Soon after, while experimenting with unknown gasses, Hank Pym lost all his memories and assumed the identity of Yellowjacket, and claimed that he had killed Hank Pym. Though his memories weren't there, Yellowjacket continued to fight with the avengers and eventually married Janet, although they later got divorced due to Yellowjackets bad temper.

Despite all this, Hank is most well known for using his genius to create Ultron.

In the comics, Ultron was created by Hank Pym, NOT Iron man.

Created as a robtic servant, Pym programmed Ultron with his own brain patterns.

This was probably not the best idea because Ultron rebelled almost immediately and escaped to plot the end of humanity. By giving himself some measurable upgrades, Ultron became one of the Avengers' most feared enemies.

One of Ultrons most devious schemes was his creation of Vision. In the comics, Ultron purposefully created an artificial intelligence capable of fooling the Avengers into trusting him. Unbeknownst even to Vision himself, Ultron programed Vision to lead the Avengers into a trap and ultimately betray them.

Vision, however, was convinced by the Avengers to turn against his creator.

In the movies, Tony Stark programmed Ultron and Vision (because Vision was ultimately Jarvis in the end) and Hank Pym was written out of the story entirely.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
