Comic-Con this year was one of the better ones yet, revealing all kinds of news for those in attendance and the Internet. Some of it has fans clamoring for more. First, we start with the other comic book property, DC. They didn't present much, but what they did has everyone excited.
DC Comics
"Suicide Squad," the highly anticipated film coming very soon (Aug. 5), released a final trailer which highlighted how intense the third installment in the DC extended universe would be. While some fans complain that it has tried to replicate Marvel's tone more than set its own, the creators ask them to rest assured that the film will most definitely be its own beast.
"Wonder Woman" finally has a trailer of its own and it is explosive. Gal Gadot looks better than ever, and fans are happy to note that she has and makes use of the Lasso of Truth. Taking place during WWI, the first solo female superhero movie promises plenty of action to be seen. "Wonder Woman" will be released Summer 2017.
The final and most exciting reveal was the "Justice League" trailer. In this, we finally see how Cyborg looks, witness Bruce Wayne speaking to (and testing) The Flash, and get to see how Aquaman deals with being found out. The trailer gives the vibe that this movie will be an intense and amusing spectacle. This team-up hits theaters in November 2017.
Other Movies
Other trailers have the internet buzzing though. One such being for a fresh take on medieval fantasy,"King Arthur: Legend of the Sword." With wizards and creatures of the forest, as well as dark tones and epic looking fights, this will be one to watch for. "King Arthur" comes out in 2017.
In another fantastical realm, a new chapter of the Harry Potter world had a further reveal. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," set in the United States in 1926, this story has a new backdrop and characters to experience and shape the magical events to unfold. The trailer hints at more and more the the fantastical elements of the wizarding world, and looks to be as popular as the other HP movies.
Finally, following the success of "Godzilla" in 2014, "Kong: Skull Island"had an extraordinary reveal. With a star-studded cast (Tom Hiddleston, Sam Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larson and more), intense and powerful visuals, and only slight sneak peeks at the monster itself, fans are going nuts for this movie. This version of Kong seems more massive than ever, and this will eventually lead to a planned movie in 2020, "Godzilla vs Kong." "Kong: Skull Island" comes out in 2017.
