You don't know whether or not to go back home for the summer. You could stay in your college hometown, where all your friends and your perfect job remains. Or, you could go home to your beloved family and your cat. The choice is up to you. However, for myself and many others, the question remains, "should I go back to Bigfork, Montana for the summer?"
The answer is always yes, and I'll tell you why.
What you did in high school doesn't matter anymore.
I get it. No one wants to go back to the hustle and bustle of gossip, which of course, is centered around your high school life. However, it's three years out of high school and most everyone just wants to make sure you're doing OKAY in college. How are your grades? How's life? Do you have a boyfriend yet (the most common question asked by adults)? However, if you go home for the summer and stick to a daily routine of being with your family and only your closet friends, your BFF's, no one will notice. Your life is irrelevant to the high school status of Bigfork, Montana.
We have mouth-watering sushi that will give you a food orgasm.
Look up SakeToMe Sushi. I promise you, you will not regret the 10 seconds it takes to look up their menu and drool over their amazing dishes. I suggest the Massive Attack roll.
If sushi isn't enough to make you drive home, how about Sweet Peaks ice cream.
A family based company, Sweet Peaks serves homemade ice cream, including: coconut, salty caramel, madagascar vanilla and many more. It's a perfect stop downtown after having some sushi or perhaps after watching Bigfork's Summer Playhouse perform.
We're only an hour away from Glacier National Park.
If you're into nature or hiking, you're rather close to the best place to go. Welcome to paradise.
The Flathead Lake.
One, we're gorgeous here. Two, we're undeniably one of the most relaxing environments to be in. We're sort of our own vacation without traveling outside of the country. Imagine spending everyday basked in the sun with a book in your hand; literally perfection.
Lastly, this is home.
We're a village. We're a community. This is my home. Anything I have learned from being away from Bigfork, Montana is that I have spent my whole life taking this breathtaking scenery for granted and all it has to offer. All that Bigfork is is only a bonus to include with the fact that this is the place I grew up in. The familiar faces and only the kind-hearted plant their roots here, and even if it is just for the summer time, I will always do the same.
