Since I know that so many of you care about what things I use and love on a daily basis (or maybe you don't care...), I decided to make it easy and compile a list of my favourite things for my favourite season. Get ready.

1. Wallace & Barnes Fisherman's Sweater.

I bought this sweater from this vintage J.Crew line a few months back in preparation for the chilly fall temperatures, and it has never failed me. It's cotton, so it's light enough to wear on its own for warmer evenings, but it's also perfect for layering with a heavier jacket or a scarf of your choice when it's just a bit too chilly. The options are limitless. The navy colour matches most looks, and makes the sweater very versatile. I adore it. Don't believe me? Go to J.Crew and try it on for yourself.

2. Kiel James Patrick bracelets.

If you follow my photo shoots, you may have noticed that I'm always wearing a trademark accessory on my wrist: It's my KJP bracelet (sometimes there's more than one). These bracelets are a must for me to have before I go anywhere. It adds a splash of prep to any outfit, and I've received countless comments on its classic and simple look. I'm a sucker for all things nautical, and if you are too, go to KJP.com and pick one or five up for yourself (and no, I'm not a spokesperson, but I would love to be. Kiel's liked several of my Instagram photos, so we're basically best friends by now...or at least I wish we were).

3. A Skagen Watch.

If you've never seen these watches, you need to immediately. I never used to be a watch person, but ever since I bought this one, it never leaves my left wrist. It's a very minimalistic, simply designed accessory with a thinner face than most watches, which is perfect for me, as I have small wrists. If you're in the market for a watch, I'd recommend either this brand or a Daniel Wellington watch and matching cuff. They're perfect for every social outing. And they go great with KJP bracelets...

4. A Trademark Fragrance.

I take how I smell very seriously. My bathroom counter is weighed down with too many cologne and aftershave bottles. But it's so important to have a trademark scent for fall. I recommend Mr. Burberry, by Burberry. It's the newest fragrance for men from this British designer, and it's wonderful. Carrying undertones of grapefruit, it also presents a smokier, woodsy base. It may not be for everyone, but it's a unique scent and I recommend everyone head over to their nearest department store to give it a spritz.

5. Boots boots boots!

This is a rather new addition to this list. My parents gifted me a new pair of Steve Maddens for my birthday this last week, and let me just say, they're perfect in every way. The leather look screams fall. They're the perfect height to match with a nice pair of broken in chinos or denim. The fit is extraordinary, and they really complete a casual or formal outfit (they're versatile enough). Boots are a must for the upcoming fall season, particularly these Maddens.

6. A good whodunnit, chai tea, and a blanket for the chilly evenings.

I love thrillers. Gone Girl is, to this day, one of my favourite novels. I love unreliable narrators, different points of view, and a plot that keeps me on the edge constantly. So when I heard about a book called The Girl on the Train nearly two years ago, I had to pick it up. I read it in an afternoon, and I've read it several times since then. It's become one of my go-to's and I absolutely love it. Basically, the premise is this: a woman, Rachel, takes a train into London every day, passing the same houses each way. She's built an imaginary connection with one particular couple she sees. But when she witnesses something peculiar at their house one morning, she quickly entangles herself into a mystery that's hard to stop reading, and hard to forget once it's over. I highly recommend it, especially since this novel has been adapted into a major motion picture, helmed by one of my favourite directors--Tate Taylor, who also directed The Help--that comes to theaters this week, on October 7th. So read it, and then go see it!

So there you have it. Those are a few of my favourite fall things. If you're looking for anything new, I hope you'll consider this list for some of your needs. And stay tuned for more "My Favourite Things" articles to come (maybe...).

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
