Colton Underwood Is The Next Bachelor, But Let's See If He's Got What It Takes To Come Out On Top

Today on "Good Morning America," it was announced that "The Bachelorette" season 14 and "Bachelor in Paradise" season 5 star Colton Underwood, founder of Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation and former NFL player, will be the new Bachelor. I'm gonna play devil's advocate and tell you why this could be a great thing or a terrible thing.

Let's take a look at Colton as a person. Colton is an amazing guy who is open to letting someone in his life. He runs a charity for Cystic Fibrosis that was inspired by his cousin who has the same disease, he loves dogs, he's a fun and goofy guy and he's a semi-retired NFL player. Who wouldn't love that? Colton may have been our last choice to be the bachelor, but hey, he's also pretty good-looking on the eyes as well.

Let's discuss his time on "Bachelor in Paradise." Colton arrived a few days late on "Bachelor in Paradise" season 5, looking for Tia, the girl he went out with for a weekend before heading onto Becca's season of "The Bachelorette". Tia had originally come for Colton, too, but when she didn't think he was coming she pursued other men. After a messy cryfest and hard decisions, Tia decided to end things with Chris Randone and started pursuing things with Colton, and he eventually asked her to be his girlfriend. Right after this happened, Tia's bestie, a former runner-up on "The Bachelor" and bachelorette on "Bachelor in Paradise" season 5, came to tell her she thought this was a bad idea, and unfortunately, she was right. Colton breaks up with Tia because he's not sure what he wants, and they both leave the island single and heartbroken.

Now let's talk about "The Bachelor" and how much they looove editing. On last season of "The Bachelorette" it was mentioned that Colton was a virgin, and of course, that would be worrisome when it came to fantasy suite nights. People love to make fun of men who're virgins because it's apparently not "masculine" enough to have a virginity at age 26. Why is it so weird for a man to be a virgin, yet exciting for women to be a virgin? There's a 100% guarantee that this season is going to be all edited to show the women who are afraid of possessing his virginity, yet if this were "The Bachelorette" and the woman was a virgin, we'd be seeing men be excited to be possibly getting her virginity, as if this is going to become their property.

^^ This is how we all feel right now about Colton being Bachelor. This was a curveball in Bachelor Nation. We were all expecting Blake or Jason, the two men who she broke up with before choosing Garrett. Now we have to make a choice: Do we want to watch a season of "The Bachelor" with Colton as the bachelor, where we will see multiple conversations about Tia, his indecisiveness from "Bachelor in Paradise" making an appearance when he's dating 30 women, and terrible editing to remind us all that he's a virgin as if that's a bad thing? We wanted BLAKE OR JASON. NOT THIS.

Of course, I am Bachelor Nation TRASH so I will be tuning in, but it's just still not right that he's here. After seeing what happened to Tia and Colton Monday night, it's clear Colton just needs a break. Apparently in Bachelor Nation, "a break" just means pursuing relationships with 30 women who are strangers to him. I wish the best of luck to Colton on his journey, but I also just wouldn't be surprised with the number of virginity conversations, or even if this ends in Colton and the lucky girl calling it quits after being engaged.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
