The news spread like wildfire this morning when they announced that Colton Underwood was chosen as the next "Bachelor." Honestly, I don't think Underwood should've been a top pick for the next season of the show. He was on Becca's season of "The Bachelorette," where he hit a wall when his ex Tia came back into the picture. Then, he was chosen to be on "Bachelor in Paradise," where he rekindled his relationship with Tia, just until he realized that he wasn't "all in" with her. Tia was blindsided by Colton; just like when Becca was blindsided by Tia, when Tia said she wasn't comfortable with Becca being with Colton. Tia was so confident in her relationship with Colton in "Paradise," until Colton dropped the bomb.
I feel like we have another Arie on our hands with Colton as the next "Bachelor."
I don't know about anyone else, but watching the last episode of Arie's season made me sick. Watching Becca get proposed to just to take it away because he changed his mind. Colton said he was in "Paradise" for Tia. But after leading her on, decides it was no longer something he would like to pursue.
After seeing Becca in "Paradise," Colton figured he wasn't cut out for it. So, what makes him cut out to be the next "Bachelor?" All Bachelor Nation has seen within the last few months has been Colton! Give the guy a break and let someone else take a chance to find love. I love Colton's values, but I don't feel like he does a good job at portraying them. It seems as if he's been given yet another rebound. He rebounded with Becca, after seeing Tia months before. Then he rebounded with Tia, in "Paradise."
Now, he's rebounding with this new season, where he has the power.
Why should he have another chance, when the past two have ended so badly? They should've let Jason Tartick be the next "Bachelor." Tartick has all the qualities most girls look for in a guy. He has class, character, and he is a family man. Also, he openly said he would be open to being the next contestant. Tartick says that "it was too quick of a turn around" to go to "Paradise," he didn't want to jump right back in. Unlike Underwood, Tartick does a good job portraying his values, and I feel like Underwood's new season will end in tears. He is just not cut out for another season, right now. If he would've been chosen in a year or two, it would probably all work out.
