Colour Pop Vs. Kylie Lip Kits

An honest review.

Colour Pop Vs. Kylie Lip Kits

People are entitled to their own opinions, but this just my experience. I own multiple lip kits from Kylie Cosmetics and Colour Pop. I am in no way, shape, or form a makeup expert and I am certainly not trying to be.

I have the colors Teeny Tiny and Trap from Colour Pop.I bought these on colourpop.com. Teeny Tiny is a dark purple gray, and Trap is a beige mixed with gray. One thing I really liked about Colour Pop is how cheap their cosmetics are. The mattes are six dollars each and the lip liners are five dollars. I had heard many good things about Colour Pop and had also heard that they use almost the same formula as Kylie.

This is Teeny Tiny.

When I first tried on Trap and Teeny Tiny I loved both of the colors. Unfortunately, this was the only thing I liked. I know that mattes tends to dry your lips out, but this formula made my lips feel so chapped, even when I put Chapstick on before applying. At one point my lips felt like they were burning. The color also tends to run and my lips looked really red around the outline of my lips. Also the lip brush was very stiff compared to others I've used before.I definitely got what I paid for. I'll probably still wear them just because I really like the colors and because I had already spent money. I don't want to feel like I wasted my money. I would not recommend this product to people. I'm upset because I really wanted to like Colour Pop.

As for Kylie Lip Kits I can't lie - I love them. My favorite shade is Dolce and I wear it all of the time. I know that people think Kylie Cosmetics are over-rated and over-priced because of the shipping fees, but I can honestly say that this product is worth the money. I would rather pay for a product that I know I will get a lot of uses out of and that I know is good, than spend less money on a product that I'm not a huge fan of that I may or may not use again. The demand tends to be higher than the supply for some of the colors and can sell out in minutes. If you're lucky enough to get your hands on one, then you're really lucky.

If they were cheaper I would buy more. The brush is really smooth and soft. The formula is amazing and the colors are really pigmented. The color stays on for a really long time even after I've had something to eat or drink. It doesn't feel too dry, certainly not as dry as Colour Pop. I always put Chapstick on before applying. I would recommend Kylie lip kits to people but only if they're willing to spend the money. Each one is about twenty-seven dollars plus shipping. They all come with a matte liquid lipstick and a lip liner. This brand also have glosses, eye shadow palettes, and eyeliners. You can also buy some of the mattes in singles for 15 dollars plus shipping. You can buy these products at Kyliecosmetics.com

Just because I liked one thing more than the other does not mean you shouldn't try both for yourself. Not everyone's lips are the same. The next cosmetics line that I really want to try is Jeffree Star's. I've heard good things about his liquid lip sticks so I am curious as to how those ones will look and feel.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
