The Kalahari Resort and Conference Center will host the 15th annual Colossalcon from Thursday, June 2, to Sunday, June 5. This pop culture convention celebrates a variety of entertainment media, including comic books, video games and Japanese anime. In 2015, Colossalcon attracted over 17,000 guests and is anticipating even more attendees this year.
The resort features a number of attractions that will be open to convention guests, such as a petting zoo and outdoor water park. Additionally, a number of celebrity guests will be present for autograph sessions and exclusive panels; Vic Mignogna, Spike Spencer and Taylor Davis are just a few.
For the very first time, Colossalcon will feature its own smartphone app, which will help guests to navigate the convention, building more efficiently. App users will also be able to browse the complete list of events and create custom schedules for their weekend at the convention.
Colossalcon encourages guests and fans to dress as their favorite pop culture characters, attend panels and celebrate their fandoms. Special events include a wig styling competition, dodgeball tournament, lolita fashion show and formal ball. A dealer room and artist area will feature merchants and independent artists from across the country, whose novelty items will be available for purchase.
Glowstick dances will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, hosted by a variety of experienced DJs. Photographers will be present all weekend and are available for photo shoot bookings. To book a photo shoot, visit the Facebook page for availability.
A limited number of badges for weekend and individual day admission will be available at the door. For a complete list of prices and convention events, visit their website.
