As school is coming to an end, and the weather is getting warmer, I find myself daydreaming about everything that I hope to do this summer. Colorado has so many wonderful things to offer for people of all ages. Here is my list of everything that everyone in Colorado should experience.
1. Farmer's market.
A variety of local vendors selling produce, crafts and food every Saturday.
2. Tube the Boulder Creek.
Initially, it's freezing but it really is the best way to cool off in the summer.
3. Cliff Jumping at Green Mountain Reservoir.
Cliff heights range from shore level to jumping off 70-footers. (Jump at your own risk.)
4. Dog Days at Scott Carpenter Pool in Boulder.
My personal favorite, the public pool opens up for dogs once it closes for the season. It's $5 per day, per dog, or you can buy them a doggy pass.
5. Hiking Maroon Bells and Hanging Lake.
Two very popular hiking trails in Colorado located in Aspen and Glenwood Canyon, respectively.
6. Sand Dunes.
A United States National Park located in the San Luis Valley, basically a desert in the middle of Colorado.
7. Outdoor eating.
The beautiful Colorado weather makes eating outside a must.
8. Pearl Street Mall.
One of the most popular and beloved Boulder attractions, with hundreds of local stores, restaurants, and breweries.
9. Alpine Slide.
Take the scenic chair lift to the top of the mountain, grab a sled and cruise down one of two 1/2 mile tracks in Heritage Square in Golden.
10. Boating.
Lake boating is so much better than ocean boating.
11. Water World.
With nearly 50 rides, Water World is one of America's best water parks.
12. Camping.
Experience Colorado's natural beauty under the stars.
13. Fourth of July Fireworks in Avon.
Just down the road from Vail, this is the best place to celebrate our nation with an incredible fireworks show.
14. Colorado rafting.
Rafting trips mean paddling through colorful canyons and gorgeous scenery on beautiful rivers for an adventure you'll never forget.
15. Denver Zoo.
As a home to more than 3,500 animals, the Denver Zoo is a fun, family-friendly activity. One of it's best features is that you can hand-feed the giraffes.
16. Garden of the Gods.
A beautiful, public park that is home to sandstone towering over 300 feet that can be seen from the paved walking path.
17. Hiking Fourteeners.
It's so satisfying to get to the top, and don't forget to take a picture with your cardboard sign!
Cheers to another wonderful, warm summer in Colorado!!
