There are so many perks when you are collegiate athlete. Being able to play the game you love for 4 more years make the challenges of school work, time management, exhaustion, and physical soreness all worth it.
1. FREE GEAR
As a collegiate athlete, you get to celebrate Christmas two times a year.
2. Road Trips
You get to see a lot of places and universities you never thought to explore before. Take advantage of the road trips with your best friends. Look out the window and look at the scenery. Sing songs on the bus. Make the freshman do something funny. Enjoy the moment of traveling with your teammates.
3. Automatic Friendships
First day of pre-season, you are blessed with a group of friends and school hasn't even started yet. Your teammates will be your best friends throughout college, and the rest of your life.
4. Playing against old friends or teammates
It's extremely weird playing against an old friend or teammate you played with your whole life, but it's also amazing seeing each other and seeing where you both have ended up at. No matter who wins or who loses, you should be happy for one another, they were once your close teammate and they should still be your close friend.
5. Creating A Schedule
Hate to talk about classes but, at least we get first pick at what we want to take. Am I right?
6. Having family members support you at your games
During season, you get to see your family so much more often than non-athletes. Parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and etc, will always be there to support you, cheering you on. It's amazing feeling seeing them when coming off the field at the end of the game.
7. Being able to play the sport you love again
It is a blessing to be able to play a college sport. Being able to your favorite sport for 4 more years of your life is something you should never take for granted. People would kill to be in your spot.
