Throughout our lifetime, we are bound to meet an abundance of people. Some of them will become our closest friends, lovers, enemies, and many will simply be forgotten. But some of the most important people in your life will be your friends from high school and college. And while both of them serve the same purpose; friendship, they will both mean entirely different things to you. So while both are extremely meaningful in your life, you tend to have different kinds of relationships with the two.

When you have your best friends from high school, these can be people you've known since kindergarten or maybe only a few years. But these are the people who know your past and basically all of your secrets. They're the ones you tell about your first kiss, the ones you get ready for school dances with, and the ones that you go to high school football games with. These are the friends that give us our foundation.

Friends in college are on an entirely different wavelength. These are the people you've known only for the past few months or years. They don't know your parents, they've never met your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend, and they probably don't know much, if anything, about where you're from. But the same goes for you too, you don't know these things about them either. These are the kinds of friends you grow with. All of these new experiences you go through in college, they're the ones by your side. These are the people you make new memories with.

Relationships throughout your lifetime are going to vary from one another. No friendship is the same. High school friends are people you will constantly reconnect with, they're the ones you have a history with and when looking back at some of the best times of your life, they were probably there. College friends, at least for now, are the ones you live in the moment with. While they may differ, each friendship serves a critical purpose in your life, and honestly, life would probably be a lot less fun without them there.

Your friends from college may not know the story of your first crush and your high school friends haven't heard about the latest story in your life. Either way, these are the people that help you shape into the person you are now. Whether you stay in touch or move in different directions over time, these companionships are the ones you'll remember forever.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
