Freshman year of college is the most memorable year of your life. What better way to tell the story of college than with gifs of adults playing high school students in what is arguably one of the most watched shows by college students who act like high school students but are trying to be adults?

Walking into your first class

You're a freshman, and you were just a senior and you don't yet know the college food chain. That quickly changes, and you realize you're at the bottom of the totem pole again.

Trying to convince your mother that you're ok

I mean she's only calling, like, fifteen times a day. In the morning. Between classes. At lunch. MOM I'M OKAY I PROMISE!

When you go to your first party

It can get kind of wild and crazy. Drinks are flying everywhere, and people are falling down, and it's so loud you can hardly hear your own thoughts. But it's fun and awkward and memorable.

After your professor posts your grades for your first test

That first test is always the hardest. You don't know what exactly to expect, so don't be disappointed when it isn't the best grade you've ever made.

When you see someone you knew in high school, and they look gooooood

People change a lot that year between high school and college. You might see someone you knew from your town or the town over and realize that they got cute all of a sudden.

After you give your friends a ride home from the bars

Let's face it: drunk college kids are messy. Your car is going to be full of trash, and there's a chance there may be some vomit in there, too. Maybe some blood? Who knows.

When you're trying to make new friends

Those first few weeks you talk to anyone and everyone trying to find who you fit in with. I shared meals with so many people I never really talked to again. This one time, I shared my ice cream with some random guys in my dorm because why not?

Pulling your first all-nighter

It's so frustrating, but it's bound to happen. You'll procrastinate and all your homework and three tests and two papers will fall on a Friday, and you'll have to stay up all Thursday night to get it done.

And realizing that your first year is almost over, but that there are only three more

It ends so soon... The year flies by, and there aren't that many years left and why am I breathing so heavy??? Why am I crying thinking about my impending graduation and having to get a real job??

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

College without friends is like peanut butter without jelly.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
