10 Things College Students Want You To Know

In This Article:

College students who were once social butterflies can quickly turn into a hermit crab when it comes to socializing. The last thing that we want to do is talk about school or hear your opinions on things like our future plans and even worse, what you think of our major.

Overall, we constantly feel judged by these things that we continuously hear. Although, for the most part, we know that people tend to mean well. This is why we never say anything even if you are making us feel bad about our major life choices we spent forever thinking about before they were ever made, or if you are just stressing us out in general. These are some points that we want you to know that we would never say otherwise.

We hate talking about how classes are going; we don't want to think about it when we don't have to.

If we haven't been ourselves lately, please don't be angry with us; it is only because we are carrying more stress than we know how to handle.

Most of us are depressed because this is a whole new world we are having a hard time adapting to. Never tell us to "just cheer up."

If you ask us what we're majoring in, don't be an a** if you don't like the answer; honestly, it's no one's business whether someone want to be a biology major or major in baking apple pies.

PLEASE don't ask us our future plans; most of us are still trying to figure that out, and the rest of us aren't 100% sure things will go according to plan and it. is. terrifying...

At the end of each semester, during finals, we're probably going to disappear for awhile.

We know you mean well, but by all means, never tell a college student what YOU think they should do with their major.

Don't ask us about our dating life; we almost feel attacked when you do. I know I'm single. I know I'm sad and lonely. I know I'm ugly. Let me be Barbra.

Please for the love of all things good, do not tell me I need to be more social. I barely get enough sleep at night as it is.

We need more support and less judgment; we get way more judgment than anyone may ever realize. In other words, stop being a dream crusher.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
