Joining a campus ministry can be very overwhelming. You to have to take in so many factors, such as size, beliefs, leadership, and location. However, what was very reassuring to me (a new transfer student) was that when you talk to different ministries, they won't pressure you into joining their group. Ultimately, each ministry is wanting you to follow where God wants you to be and where you feel most comfortable in. So to those searching for a campus ministry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, here's some information about the one I have joined.

Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) is based through the Presbyterian church. However, a great handful of students don't go to a Presbyterian church each Sunday, myself included. Additionally, each work in RUF has a meaning behind it. "Reformed" stands for what we believe. "University" is our location, outreaching to college campuses all across the country. Fun Fact: there are about 140 RUF ministries all across the United States. Finally, "Fellowship" stands for being with one another each week, sharing how Christ is working in our lives and sharing His love with one another.

Like many other campus ministries, RUF has a great community of individuals. In fact, RUF has interns! The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has two great interns who love to get to know their students. They also love to grab coffee with you and some will make you different types of cookies every week. Additionally, RUF's college students are so cool. After meeting everyone, you feel like you've known them for quite a few years, even if you met them two weeks ago. Overall, everyone is such great friends and will include you in anything. Whether it's a Snapchat group or going to a football game, you're included.

If that didn't hook you, RUF also has amazing Bible studies throughout the school year. Bible studies are not only led by interns and RUF leaders, but also junior and senior students attending your university. They challenge you and convict you. RUF's Bible studies are a safe place to voice what you are struggling with. They won't place judgement on you, because it's more than likely that they have gone through what you are currently going through.

Okay, if you are still unsure about joining RUF, here's something else to consider: conferences. Not like your boring work conferences where you watch paint dry, but conferences that are So. Much. Fun. RUF does Fall, Winter, and Summer conferences which are a great way to go and have fun with other believers. All while taking the time to relax from the busy campus life. Each conference has phenomenal speakers that preach right from the Word of God. Additionally, conferences are an easy way to get to know others, plus it's reasonably priced for the whole trip. If you would like to know more in-depth information about conferences, contact someone who attends RUF!

I hope that this gives you a little insight onto what Reformed University Fellowship is about. If you are still searching for a campus ministry, I pray that you find a great group to join. Remember to follow where God leads you and don't be afraid to talk to anyone.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
