We hear it all the time: "College is the best time of your life!"

While this can be true, it is only true to an extent. It's not all fun and games 24/7, and for some, it can actually be the worst time of their life. Entering the real world after graduation can still be hectic and similar to college, but college is a whole other life compared to adulthood.

Although there are things that college students will miss after college, there are some things the definitely won't miss.

1. Constantly changing schedules.

Just when we think our bodies are used to a schedule, a new semester starts and our schedule is yet again changed. There are jobs that students will hold after graduation where they will have constantly changing schedules, but for the most part we will have a more consistent work schedule.

2. Academic stress.

Not only is there a lot of school work that comes with being in college, but between all of the homework, quizzes, exams, group projects, and other assignments we can become very stressed academically. Once we graduate we will have some stress from work, but we won't have to stress about a GPA defining us.

3. Social stress.

We get involved in college because not only do we want to, but because it looks good on a resume. It can be rewarding, but it also can be very stressful when trying to balance a social life among academics and working. When we graduate our job will be the only source of stress.

4. Night classes.

There are only a select few who are OK with taking night classes, but nearly everyone despises of them. We might have late nights at our job once we graduate, but we won't have to sit through a boring lecture. Not to mention once class is over it is too late to do anything.

5. Dining hall food.

See ya later disgusting, bland campus food! We just all know how crappy and non-nutritional it really is.

6. Off-campus living conditions.

Off-campus living is a great way to save money, but with a cheaper price comes less-than-pretty living conditions. Not to mention, landlords are always taking advantage of students by charging them damage fees.

7. Campus wifi.

WiFi is always spotty and always slow. Although we'll have to pay for our own internet and router after graduation, it sure will be nice to buy ourselves high speed internet/WiFi.

8. Having to walk everywhere.

Whether you love walking or hate it, walking all around campus is an annoyance when you have to dress nice (ex. walking campus in heels suck) or it is pouring rain. Once you graduate you'll be able to drive everywhere and barely have to walk again.

9. Pulling all-nighters.

Pulling all-nighters is something we just have to do in college. Once we graduate there will be days we'll work late at our job, but at least we can enjoy more sleep that in college.

10. Taking out additional loans.

Every year in college puts a hurting on our wallets (and credit) since we have to take out more and more loans. Although the moment we graduate we'll have a lot of loans to pay back, it'll be nice knowing we don't have to take out and more loans for school.

11. Bad professors.

Now we will meet some people in our careers that we don't like, but at least we won't have to deal with bad professors. Bad professors can make it really hard to get good grades and pass the class. It'll be so enjoyable not having to deal with such professors.

12. Being broke.

Nothing like being in thousands of dollars of debt and classes limiting you on the hours you can work, thus leaving you with little money. Once graduation rolls around and we start our careers, we won't even know what to do with the money we'll possess.

13. Living with people you don't like.

At one point in college we have (or currently) lived with someone we don't like. Once graduation comes, we are free to live with family again, with a close friend, or alone! No more dealing with roommate drama.

14. Irrelevant work.

General Education courses. Granted some gen eds can be beneficial in life, but for the most part they are pretty pointless. When will I ever need to use Chemistry when my career is Accounting? No more irrelevant will lead to less stress and annoyances.

15. Paying for school.

No more paying an organization to grade us on our work! Rather, now we will get paid for the work we do. It will be much less stressful trying to pay bills by getting paid for our work rather than paying-in for our work.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
