6 Things Every College Student Can Relate to During Thanksgiving Break

6 Things Every College Student Can Relate to During Thanksgiving Break

1. When you get home and all you want to do is eat real food.

You've been surviving off of dining hall food or in my case $1 dollar instant noodles since the last time you were able to visit home. Which means it's been weeks since you've had access to a decent meal. That gives you every right to stuff your face with anything that is an arms length away.

2. When you get to see your pets.

They probably thought you were dead because it's been about two months since you walked out the door and abandoned them for school. While your sibling has snapchatted you pictures of them or even facetimed you with your pet in the background nothing is better than seeing them in person.

3.When every family member at dinner asks if you have found a boyfriend.

Nothing is better than sitting next to your aunt and having a big scoop of mashed potatoes about enter your mouth and she asks the infamous question "Do you have a boyfriend?". There is no good answer to this because if you answer yes you are roped into answering a laundry list of other questions, but if you answer no then the awkward sets in. I'm working on things okay let me eat my side dishes in peace.

4. When someone asks how school is going.

Just when you thought you could escape school by being at home it sneaks up on you. How do you like your major? Is it hard? What do you want to do after college? Whoa, people I made it into college isn't that enough? I'm just like every other college kid: starving, poor, and debating if I should drop out at least 3 times a day.

5. When you realize that every paper and project for the semester is due after break.

All those projects and 10 pages papers didn't seem real back in September when the syllabuses came out but oh how real they are now. Fast forward to Sunday night, you are sitting at home on your couch, stuffed with leftovers, trying to make sure your paper doesn't sound like a second grader attends your Biochemistry class. The stress level is a 10.

6. You have to leave your house to go back to your dorm.

The dorm wasn't so bad when you hadn't been home in awhile. During the semester you get used to sharing three stalls and four showers with 25 girls and sleeping 5 feet away from your roommate. But then you go home and it is like being in a 5 star hotel. You have your own room, a shower that you don't have to wear shoes in, and no throw up on the toilets. This luxury is only temporary because soon you'll be back to the prison known as the dorm hall.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
