The month of December was at one point the happiest month of the year. Christmas, presents, and holiday cheer are the first (and only) things on everyone's mind. But for college students, a horrifying thought is stealing the happiness and holiday cheer. No, it's not the Grinch: it's finals.

1. When you study for hours and you still don't understand anything.

2. When you make coffee to get you through a night of studying.

3. When your mom asks how your studying is going.

4. When you find out the final won't be curved.

5. Cramming the night before.

6. When you're on your way to your exam.

7. As your professor is handing out the test materials.

8. When you surprisingly know everything on the test.

9. When you finally finish your exam.

10. Because you're amazing and you'll do great.

7. If you say you will be home at a certain time, you better be home at that time.

8. Seeing a missed call from your parents sends fear and horror through your veins.

9. If relatives are coming over to the house, your room better be clean.

10. You are careful about what jokes you share with your parents.

11. "You’re not an adult until you turn 18! You can do whatever you want then!"

12. If plans change while you’re out, you better text or call.

13. Don’t talk back. Ever.

14. When you’re called by your full name, you’re in deep trouble.

15. Don’t make them call your name twice.

16. Sleepovers are not a thing.

17. Despite all of these things, you know your parents love you.
