12 Struggles Of Living On Campus As Told By Plankton

The school year is coming to an end for college students, and that means those who live on campus will finally be moving back home for three and a half months. Some will be happy to be in their own bed again, while some are not looking forward to moving out. Either way, there are plenty of struggles of living on campus that nobody will miss.

Plankton said he went to college, right? Then he must know all too well. Take it away, Plankton!

1. You need the RA on duty, but they're out of the office.

You need the RA for whatever reason, and when you get to the office, you find the room empty with the door locked. Now what do you do? Do you stand there and wait for them to return?

2. All of the washing machines and/or dryers are being used.

There are those days when so many people in the building are doing their laundry, and having to wait to do yours is not fun.

3. All of the washing machines and/or dryers are being used, but at least one of them is done with their cycle and the user hasn't come to move their laundry yet.

Never mind the machines being occupied; having to wait for someone to move their laundry is just flat out irritating. You might be tempted to take their clothes out of the machine yourself and stack them on top of it.

4. Your pizza delivery is taking two hours to arrive.

When a pizza place is delivering in a college neighborhood, there is no doubt that they're going to be busy a lot.

5. You're dreading that walk to class on the other side of campus.

You wonder why you chose to take a class in a building so far away from your residence hall in the first place.

6. The vending machines in your building won't work.

This is disappointing because all you wanted was a snack and a soda.

7. Fire alarms can sound at three in the morning.

If you're going to make popcorn that late at night, try not to burn it. If you do, your entire building will hate you.

8. You've locked yourself out of your room. Maybe even the entire building.

Your roommates are out, you've left your key in your room, and you haven't realized. Now, it's all a matter of where you are when you realize. If you're just down the hall when you do so, you just have to stop at the RA office so they can unlock your door. But if you're outside of the building? Uh oh.

9. You're more likely to run out of dining dollars and/or meal swipes than commuters are.

Oh well. College students have to eat somehow. But if you do run out of your meal plan, you can always ask your friend to use a guest swipe for you!

10. You forgot your washing needs from the shower and you don't realize until next time.

There is one person who benefits from this and one who doesn't. Someone is likely going to take your shower needs and use them as as their own. You, on the other hand, will have to make a trip to the store and spend money.

11. You're being billed for damage, even if you didn't cause it.

You might say "I'm not getting charged for someone else's immaturity!" But the truth is, there are students living in your hall who will cause damage and not own up to it. Nobody may know who is responsible, so you are unable to anonymously inform the RD who it is. Unfortunately, you are out of luck.

12. You're trying to go to sleep and people are being loud in the hallway.

You don't understand why people are screaming when they know it is quiet hours. You may feel the need to ask them to quiet down, but your bed is so comfortable that you don't want to get up.

Yes, there are still plenty of things I will miss about being on campus. But after going through this list, I really can't wait to come home to my own bed, home cooked meals, and a shower without having to wear shoes.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
