I guess you could say I wasn't the most "outgoing" in high school. I didn't go to the parties on the weekends, I didn't drink in my friend's basement after their parents went to sleep. I never tailgated the football games or stayed out past midnight. But then College started and let me tell you my world was rocked! Going to your first party is more than just a learning experience, it's a whole new ballgame.

1. Even though you can't taste any alcohol it is most definitely there.

After one cup of Jungle Juice, you'll want another because there are no rules in college! Be sure to pace yourself because after round 3 or 4 you will most likely end up sick in some random bathroom before 1 am. And then you will taste and feel everything.

2. New 3 inch heels are and will never be a good idea.

No matter how much you feel like Beyonce and how good your legs look, walking back to your dorm room is and will never be fun. It will be painful and you will probably fall at least once.

3. No amount of hairspray will keep your curls intact all night.

No one cares how long it took you to do your hair and makeup. By the end of the night, you will all be sweaty, have makeup everywhere, and will smell really bad.

4. Take all your cute squad pictures before, never during.

After a few drinks, everyone looks cute and is having a great time. That is not the time to take out your phone and start taking selfies. DO NOT POST THOSE SELFIES!!! I repeat DO NOT POST your awkward drunk selfies on any social media.

5. Always make sure someone is sober enough to be the "Mom."

Having someone that is able to operate a cell phone to call you a ride is the best thing ever! Make sure someone is capable of operating a phone and talking to someone in complete sentences.

6. Going home early is okay.

You'd rather be safe than sorry any day! Listen to your heart and if something makes you uncomfortable and you want to leave grab a buddy and leave!

7. You will see "Adam" from XXX again he just won't remember you.

"Adam" is the first college guy you flirt with. Your first real taste of what your new life will be. He is tall, dark, and handsome. He was also super drunk that night so he won't remember you when you see him on your way to class on Monday.

8. Plan ahead when calling a sober!

As the night goes on the parties get more and busier so it will take longer to get a ride! Plan ahead and call one 30 minutes before you want to leave.

9. The bigger the squad the easier it is to find someone to leave with.

Remember that the buddy system is key and that the more people you have with you the more likely one of them will want to leave with you

10. Have Fun!

Remember to let your hair down and cut loose! But, be safe!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
